At Charlotte County Habitat the “village” or as we say, our partners, are crucial to our success. We are currently working on completing four homes before June 30th. With the help of our partners, 22 families will have realized the dream of home-ownership during our fiscal year. Charlotte Technical College (CTC), old timers will know it as The Vo-Tech, has been a great partner with Charlotte County Habitat. What does Charlotte County Habitat for Humanity, cigars and golf have in common? Thomas A. Huff (Tom) was instrumental in moving the Habitat mission forward in more ways than most realize. Not only did Tom donate his architectural services for nearly 300 Habitat homes, he participated in Habitat’s special events (one being our golf tournament) and he recommended our homeownership program to many. On April 16th the early morning sun was shining and there was a crisp coolness to the air, a pleasant surprise for mid-April. Over 20 members of Lemon Bay Sunrise Rotary Club gathered at a construction site with one mission – to begin construction on Charlotte County Habitat for Humanity’s 350th home!
